The Top 10 Jewish Songs


  1. Hava Nagila: The mainstay song of every wedding and bar/bat mitzvah.                                       
  2. David Melech Yisrael: The entire song is “David is the king of Israel / Lives, lives and exists.”           
  3. Am Yisrael Chai: The entire song is “The people of Israel Live. Our forefather still lives.”                      
  4. Hatikvah: Hatikvah means “The Hope.”  It is the national anthem of Israel.                        
  5. Lo Yisa Goy: A song that looks to a time in the world where there will not be any war anymore.
  6. Shalov Rav: A song asking G-d for peace and blessings to the Jewish people.
  7. Siman Tov: A song traditionally sung right after something joyous just happened (like breaking the glass at the end of a wedding)
  8. Ufaratsta: A song about the spreading out of Jews throughout the world.
  9. Tumbalalaika: A Yiddish song about a boy asking riddles to a girl in order to find a smart wife.
  10. Oh Hanukkah: A song that every Jewish kid knows because they have to have one song to counter the hundreds of Christmas songs.
