* Michelangelo’s statue of Moses from the 16th century has horns. This myth probably derives from a mistranslation of the Bible, where it says that when Moses came down with the second set of tablets, Moses’ face was radiant. In Hebrew, the word for radiant can also be the word for horn, qaran, thus the confusion, and the myth began.

* The hole in the sheet myth probably derives from non-Jews seeing a “Talit Katan” (the undergarment worn by orthodox men). This garment has a hole to fit over the man’s head like a poncho. When the “Talit Katan” was hung out to dry, non-Jews thought it was a sheet with a hole to have sex through.
